Descirption of the Tour

The Drava Cycle Path is without a doubt one of the most beautiful cycling routes in Europe and has been awarded by the German Cyclist's Association as a 5-STARS QUALITY CYCLING ROUTE. The section from Alta Pusteria to Klagenfurt is particularly suitable for families with children and for beginners. The tour begins in Dobbiaco/Villabassa, near the spring of the Drava River. Here Gustav Mahler already found his inspirational place to compose. The river Drava is a constant companion on the way to the East Tyrolean capital Lienz. From there, the route continues via the towns of Spittal an der Drau and Villach to Klagenfurt. On the way, several bathing lakes invite you to take a refreshing dip in the fresh water. But if you prefer, you can also simply enjoy the sun's rays on the shores of Lake Millstättersee, Lake Ossiach, Lake Faakersee or Lake Wörthersee.

Characteristics of the Route

This tour is also highly recommended for "cycling novices" and families. The route mostly follows the course of the river Drava and there are no big ascents to master.
