Description

The Carinthian Lake Loop is a bike tour to the most beautiful lakes in Carinthia. Passing blue and turquoise lakes, accompanied by a hilly and mountainous landscape, the route impresses with a varied landscape. The Mediterranean influence in the south of Austria makes cycling a pleasure from April to October. This short cycling tour is a variant of the original route for connoisseurs. There are no sections with steep inclines or on roads in this tour. The stages are shorter, so there is more time to discover the beautiful landscape but also cuisine and culture. The cycling tour takes you from Villach, the "cycling capital" of Carinthia, to Lake Faak, to Lake Klopeiner See and via the provincial capital Klagenfurt to Lake Wörthersee or the lakes valley of Keutschach back to Villach and finally around Lake Ossiach.

Characteristics of the Route

The bike tour leads mainly on well-maintained bike paths, very often directly along the lake shore. The route is mainly flat, in a few sections slightly hilly. This bike tour is also suitable for families with children from 12 years.
