Description

German TV broadcaster WDR wanted to cross the Alps by e-bike for the travel show Wunderschön and we were chosen to be involved in the planning, to take over the on-site organization and to actively support the crew along the way. So in June 2018, we set off with cameraman, sound engineer, presenter Marco Schreyl, director Caro Wagner and our team to cross the Alps via the Alpe Adria cycle path on an e-bike. It was fun, sometimes also quite challenging to get everything under control. We would like to thank everyone in the WDR team for this great experience. Along the way, we were joined by three guides who accompanied Marco Schreyl. For 2022, we are organizing three dates of this special tour on the tracks of WDR Wunderschön and were able to get the three former companions to join us on this tour as well. Rupert Riedl will welcome you in Salzburg and accompany you to Bad Gastein. Anna Pacher will pick you up at the Tauernschleuse, just like in the film, and - we are especially looking forward to this - visit her grandma's farm with you. In Udine you will be joined by Robert Schumann, who will ride with you to Aquilea. Your personal tour guide from Alps2Adria will be with you during the tour from Bad Gastein.

Characteristics of the Route

The route runs mainly on well-maintained cycle paths and minor roads with little traffic. The challenging section over Pass Luegg can be shortened by train. The bike tour is suitable for children over 16 years of age.
