Description

The starting point of this cycling tour is Trieste, the former Habsburg-Austrian port, situated on the foothills of the Karst. At the time of the Roman Empire, Trieste developed from a relatively small, insignificant town into a bustling and rich port city. At the beginning you follow the railroad line of the Parenzana, former train connection between Trieste and Porec. A short stretch along the coast between Porec and Rovinj will let you breathe in the scent of the sea, fill your eyes with its many different nuances and enjoy a lively atmosphere of the coastal towns. The journey continues through the inland to the east coast and the famous seaside resort of Rabac, from where it returns north to Trieste, not forgetting a short stop in Muggia. An indescribable adventure on the gravel bike that will offer you unforgettable marittime landscapes, nature and historical old towns.

Characteristics of the Route

The cycling tour from Trieste to Porec and Rabac follows the old railroad line and secondary roads through the inland. The tour is suitable for children over 16 years old.
