Description

Along the route, cyclists experience five very different worlds of adventure. In the first adventure world, the element of water is a constant companion. The route passes the Isar, Lake Tegernsee, the Sylvenstein reservoir and Lake Achensee. The second stage - Treasure Chest Tyrol - focuses on Tyrol's mining tradition and its numerous cultural and natural treasures. Just past the Brenner Pass, section three is reached with an alpine-Mediterranean lifestyle. In the fourth section of the route, the focus is on the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. On the last stage - Gardens of Venice & Art Cities - through the Venetian plain, cyclists immerse themselves in the flair of the world-famous lagoon city and, if they like, in the sea near Jesolo.

Characteristics of the Route

The bike tour from Munich to Venice is a very varied tour. The most demanding section over the Alps (Innsbruck - Brennero) can be shortened by train or bus and the route through the Dolomites from Dobbiaco to Cortina d'Ampezzo can be cycled without difficulty on the cycle path along the former railroad line. The last two days are downhill and flat towards the sea. The bike tour is suitable for children over 16 years old.
